If you apply for late enrolment, you will be advised of the outcome within 10 working days. The notification will be by phone or by an email sent to your RMIT student email account. If your application is successful and your place in the program is reinstated, an email will be sent to your RMIT student email account advising that you can now enrol and that the late enrolment fee has been charged to your student account.

You should complete your enrolment as initially advised in your enrolment notification. If you were scheduled to enrol online you can do so until the last day to add classes - this is listed in your important dates. If your application for late enrolment is approved you must complete your enrolment your census date.

You will not be permitted to enrol after this point. Please note that late enrolment into a course or program is not grounds for special consideration. If your application for late enrolment is approved, a late enrolment fee will be automatically applied to your account. You must submit your own appeal. Submissions from anyone else will not be considered. RMIT staff may support your appeal by supplying you with relevant evidence, documentation or a letter of support.

The fee will only be removed if the University deems that the circumstances were serious, beyond your control and directly affected your ability to enrol by the end of the scheduled enrolment period.

Appeals against the late fee should be submitted to enrolments rmit. Please send your email from your RMIT student email account.

Enrol as a new or continuing student, apply for credit or a leave of absence, plus visa and eCoE information for international students. Enrol in courses at other Australian universities, RMIT Online or Open Universities Australia and have these studies count towards your current program. Enrol as an inbound student and study at RMIT in Melbourne, or as an outbound student and study overseas. You need to enrol each year in your program to secure your place and access your course and learning materials. If you have undertaken relevant prior study or learning, you can apply for this to count towards your current RMIT program.

If you would like to take a break from study, you may be eligible for a leave of absence of six months or one year. Before enrolling in a new program, you may need to verify your citizenship or residency status.

You may need to prove that you're enrolled in a program with RMIT and show your study load. To study in Australia as an international student, you will need a visa issued by the Australian Government. If your Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment eCoE is due to expire before you complete your studies, you can apply for a new one.

If your visa will expire before you complete your program, you can renew it. If you make changes to your study plans, it may affect your student visa.
